Moonlight Musicals Academy
The Moonlight Musicals Academy is the largest Academy program in West Texas and offers education, training, and opportunities to the youth of Lubbock and the South Plains. We serve around 500 young performers throughout the year with classes, camps, and youth shows. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media for the latest updates.
Academy Classes

Registration for our Spring semester classes will open on January 1st and classes will start on either March 9th or 10th! Hurry and reserve your spot as soon as registration opens because classes fill up quickly! Academy students will learn the three disciplines of musical theatre from three highly trained instructors focusing on voice, acting, and dance. Our classes are divided up by age groups and each group will be guided by our wonderful class counselors. All Academy classes will culminate in a final revue in May. $250 per semester for 9 weeks of instruction, Academy T shirt, and a final performance revue that is free for all your family and friends.

Academy Summer Camps

We offer six different weeks of summer camps throughout June and July alternating between Shrek the Musical Kids and Seussical Kids. Campers will produce one of these shows each week guided by our highly trained stage directors, music directors, choreographers, and camp counselors. Registration for our 2026 Summer camps will open on March 1st. Make sure to reserve your spot as soon as it opens because camps fill up quickly!

$150 per camper for an entire week of camp that includes all rehearsals, T shirt, and a final free performance for all family and friends.

Academy Shows

Our famous Moonlight Musicals Academy shows are a standard part of our main season. Performers learn the art of performing for sold out crowds of hundreds of audience members per night at one of the largest theatre venues in the South Plains. Make plans to audition for our Academy shows this year, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Youth Edition” and “Anastasia: Youth Edition”. Introducing our Teen Intensive!
Dates: Wednesday, June 17 - Friday, June 19
Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
*This intensive is for students ages 13-19. If a student is currently 12, but feels they are able to keep up with a more rigorous, three-day intensive geared towards a collegiate-level, they will be eligible to participate.
Clara Kundin, MFA
Students will train with Guest Artist & Workshop Facilitator, Clara Kundin, MFA, who is currently the Assistant Professor of Theatre at Eastern New Mexico University. Clara Kundin holds an MFA in Theatre for Youth & Community with an emphasis in Directing from Arizona State University, a certificate in physical theater from the École Jacques Lecoq, and a BA in Theatre from St. Olaf College. As an actor, Clara has performed nationally, internationally, and Off-Broadway and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association. Most recently, she performed in the original Phoenix cast of the Off-Broadway hit Drunk Shakespeare. Clara has taught acting nationally, including at Arizona State University, the Lawrence Arts Center, Childsplay, Santa Fe Playhouse, and the Mary McDowell Friends School.
College Mentors
Students will also work with college mentors currently pursuing degrees in the arts. Through breakout sessions and mentorship, students will have the opportunity to ask questions, gain advice, and begin forming relationships that can support their future careers.

Josiah Branch - Currently pursuing Digital Media Arts and Theatre at Lubbock Christian University
Aubree Giselle - Currently pursuing Musical Theatre and Business at Pace University, New York City
Students will participate in professional and collegiate-level audition training, performance coaching, and a variety of movement and vocal exercises designed to reflect collegiate-level instruction. Students will receive a professional headshot provided by TTU RaiderComm, a Moonlight Musicals shirt, as well as resumé templates and guidance on what directors are looking for during auditions.
